Mamavation Monday

"Think less, love more."

That's what the always insightful Pete Cohen (a.k.a. The Weightloss Guru) said during his webinar this morning.  I had forgotten that.  Nearly a year ago Pete's message of being gentle with myself and changing my attitude from one of what can I gain, not what am I trying to lose helped push me in the right direction.  Somehow over the last few months I've forgotten that.

Life got away from me last week and I didn't check in with the blog.  But, I had gained a pound.  This past week got even more hectic as I had health problems besiege me.  I can laugh about it now, but between an allergic reaction, a tooth extraction, and Thanksgiving life got a little out of the ordinary.  I didn't exercise enough and I ate too much.  Thus, I gained another pound.  So, I'm at 146# now.

After listening to Pete today, I realize I need to actually write down my goals.  Weekly I want to get at least 30 minutes of sweaty cardio in.  I want to strength train for at least 30min 3 times/week.  After I'm good with 3 times/week, I'd like to increase that to 4 times/week.  

Ultimately, I want to feel energetic and confident in myself.  I want to be healthy and strong.  So, I'm going to think about weight loss less, and more about loving myself, giving myself what my body needs, not what my inner brat wants.

I am glad you brought out these points. Writing goals makes them feel more concrete. I am gonna try to take Pete's advise and love more.

Hey there. Sounds like you had a rough week last week, glad you can laugh about it now. This is a good time to get on these goals, record them, do them... ahead of the Jan 1 crowd.

Love that you can laugh through the crazy of last week. And I agree, writing things down is SO important. I think after reading this post I'll jot a few things down, too!

Good luck this week! Writing down your goals has ALWAYS helped me... but I take it a bit further and find pictures to help illustrate my goals where possible... my vision board :)

I know you are going to do GREAT!
