Many years ago I worked at a Pediatric office. At Christmas every year someone would bring in a large tin of shortbread cookies and a large container of Nutella. Mmmm, I was in heaven, spreading nutella on those cookies. I never thought of Nutella as more than a dessert option.
Now, a decade later, I was given the opportunity to host a Nutella Party. Here's the deal though: It needed to be a breakfast party. No problem! Nutella provided us with some great ideas.
I realize that Nutella has sugar and coca in it and should be enjoyed in moderation. Missy is a very picky eater. She unfortunately has decided that she really enjoys the convenience toaster pastries. I don't like how much sugar, preservatives, and refined flour is in them, but I also don't like Missy skipping breakfast.
I made my favorite whole wheat waffle recipe (substituting applesauce for the oil) to spread Nutella on. Delicious!!
I also spread a thin layer of Nutella on tortillas and added sliced strawberries and bananas.
Then, rolled them up to enjoy. Fabulous!
I have also enjoyed Nutella spread on whole wheat english muffins. I then top it with sliced bananas. One could also use dried fruit.
The only sad part is when your container looks like this:
This is what Buddy thinks of that:
Disclaimer: I was provided with Nutella and Nutella products to share with my friends. I was not compensated monetarily. This in no way shaped my opinion. Nutella is delicious - how could anyone think differently?!?! ;)
